If there has been a theme in Thuram’s career to date, it has been continuous growth and improvement.

The Frenchman did not really come out of the blocks as a youth prodigy.

Even though Thuram carries the famous name of legendary former defender Lilian Thuram, he did not make a mark for himself as a top level forward early on.

But over a few seasons playing in Ligue 1, Thuram developed his game.

This earned Thuram a move to Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2019.

And that switch to the Bundesliga proved to be the right choice for the Frenchman.

In four seasons in Monchengladbach, Thuram transitioned from a versatile winger to more and more of an out-and-out striker.

The France international refined his goal threat significantly. And this caught the eye of Inter.

Marcus Thuram Only Continuing To Grow At Inter Milan

Last season was Thuram’s first at Inter.

And it did not take very long at all for the former Gladbach striker to make an impact in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Thuram made himself indispensable to the Nerazzurri with his movement, pace, technical ability, and ability to link up with captain Lautaro Martinez.

The Frenchman may not have been as prolific in front of goal as Martinez.

But the fact that Thuram hit double figures for both goals and assists reflected just how well-rounded a threat he offered.

At the start of this season, though, there has been even further improvement from Thuram.

The 27-year-old has still managed to drift around and form combinations with teammates.

But now, Thuram looks more aggressive than ever. The Frenchman is constantly driving at defenders, wherever he has the ball.

This has given Inter a more decisive presence in behind the opposition defensive line.

And Thuram has also worked on his instincts and reactions in the penalty area.

And the result has been four goals from just three matches.

Having announced himself last season with his versatility and well-roundedness, Thuram is ready to have a run at being Inter’s – and even Serie A’s – top goalscorer.
