Luton Town return to Wigan Athletic four days after the pair met at the DW Stadium in the third-round replay of the FA Cup.

Kolo Toure has endured a difficult start to life as Wigan boss and will be hoping that he can fire his side out of the bottom three positions during what remains of the campaign.

As for the Hatters, they are just two points outside of the play-off positions as things stand and possess a game in hand on all who are above them.

Rob Edwards’ side have travelled well during this Championship campaign, managing 1.77 points per game away from their Bedfordshire home.

Sharing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that the Hatters’ away record will be bolstered further with a 2-0 Luton victory.

The verdict

Wigan have made a positive start to the January transfer window and their month could get even better as they search for more signings.

With it being the third time that their two teams have met in quick succession, it is difficult to read how this latest clash will play out.

The Latics do remain low on confidence, with Elijah Adebayo delivering a crushing blow in the 98th minute on Tuesday evening.

It would be no surprise to see another tight affair play out at the DW Stadium this weekend and it will also be no shock to see the Hatters pick up all three points.
