Earlier in October, the Newcastle United v Manchester City match was moved to accommodate Sky Sports.

The broadcaster having the game changed to 2pm on Sunday 19 December.

Then on Friday 29 October, Sky Sports had the match moved again, due to a knock on effect from Everton and Leicester’s match being moved, Sky Sports moving Newcastle v Man City to a 2.15pm kick-off, although the same date (Sunday 19 December.

Guess what?

Sky Sports have moved Newcastle United v Manchester City for a THIRD time.

Yes, only 48 hours before the game, they have changed the kick-off time once more.

Moving it back to the 2pm start that they had originally changed it to…

This latest move is simply because Sky Sports want it to be moved, not because it has to be. The reason they are doing so is because now the Everton v Leicester game has been postponed due to Covid issues.

I know it is only 15 minutes BUT it will affect some of the 52,000+ who are going to the match, who have paid their money, who may well have made arrangements that are now affected to a degree.

It is shocking how just on a whim, the likes of Sky Sports can move matches back and forward.

Sunday’s Premier League clash between Newcastle United and champions Manchester City will now kick off at 2pm (GMT).

The fixture at St. James’ Park – which is being shown live in the UK by Sky Sports – was due to get under way at 2.15pm (GMT) but has been brought forward by 15 minutes at the request of the broadcaster and then agreed by both clubs and the league.

This is following the postponement of Everton v Leicester City, which was due to be played at 12 noon. The Magpies’ match remains live on Sky Sports.

Supporters who are attending the game are advised that they must complete a Covid status declaration before arriving at St. James’ Park.

This simple online process requires fans to confirm they have a valid NHS Covid pass or negative NHS Covid test within the previous 48 hours.

Newcastle United supporters can complete the declaration here before 6pm on Saturday.’
