On the eve of AC Milan’s trip to face Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, some indications have emerged regarding how both teams are likely to line up.
Stefano Pioli gave an injury update during his pre-match press conference today, while Sky have offered what they believe will be the starting line-ups of the two sides.
They believe that Milan will once again line-up with Theo Hernandez at centre-back given that Simon Kjaer will not recover. Fikayo Tomori will be his partner, with Davide Calabria at right-back and Alessandro Florenzi at left-back in front of Mike Maignan.
A midfield double pivot is expected with Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah operating deeper than Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is tipped to return to an advanced role.
Rafael Leao is pushing to make the bench while Olivier Giroud returns to lead the line, and he will be flanked by Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic (who we believe Sky have the wrong way around).
Probable Atalanta XI (3-4-1-2): Musso; Scalvini, De Roon, Kolasinac; Hateboer, Ederson, Koopmeiners, Ruggeri; Pasalic; Lookman, Muriel.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Hernandez, Florenzi; Reijnders, Musah; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic; Giroud.
