Manchester United under INEOS have moved away from signing only big-name players, and are always on the lookout for the next gem on the market.

And as per Norwegian outlet VG, the Red Devils now have their eyes on SK Brann’s “great talent” Eivind Helland.

The report mentioned that United scouts were present in the stands to watch Brann thrash Viking FK 3-1 at the Brann Stadion in Bergen.

The defender’s agent did not respond to questions regarding interest in his client.

Eivind Helland scouting

“According to VG, Manchester United are following Brann’s great talent Eivind Helland.

“Helland’s agent Morten Wivestad, who was in the stands in Bergen on Sunday, has not responded to VG’s inquiries.”

In 18 appearances so far this season, the 20-year-old has helped keep four clean sheets, while registering an assist as well.

He is versatile as well, capable of playing as a right-back if needed. And Eivind Helland is a giant, standing at 6ft 3in, indicating he would not be physically outmuscled in England.

The player was asked about his future, to which he responded that he was happy at his current club and was not thinking of leaving at the moment.

Eivind Helland quotes

“I haven’t thought much about it. It’s just the way it is. That’s the way the football world is. I’m very calm about it.

“I feel very comfortable here, and my plan is to be here. No, I’m going to play really well with Brann,” the defender responded to questions of United’s interest.

What is interesting is his current deal lasts until 2026, which means the 20-time English league champions have the potential to land him on the cheap this summer.

Or potentially on a free next summer if the player keeps improving. His current market value stands at €3.5 million as per Transfermarkt.
