Vitor Roque’s signing was announced with great anticipation in the January transfer window as Barcelona were getting their hands on one of Brazil’s most prized young center-forward talents.

However, with the season reaching its culmination, it is safe to say the youngster’s stint in Catalonia has not gone according to plan.

Roque has been drip-fed minutes sporadically, with the coaching staff opting to utilize more experienced forwards in key matches.

In addition to the player requiring a period of adaptation, the intense competition for starting spots has restricted Roque’s development.

As such, a loan exit for the 19-year-old is being contemplated in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Top European clubs eyeing Roque

Indeed, as per Mundo Deportivo Napoli, Lyon, Nice, Sevilla, Man United, and Real Betis are the teams interested in signing Vitor Roque on loan.

It must be remembered that Roque attracted plenty of interest before signing with Barcelona, and it is expected that top clubs will once again line up for him if he becomes available for a loan.

The Catalan giants believe Roque could revive his career with more regularity and are reportedly open to a loan operation.

Even so, it has been said that Barcelona only wants to loan out Roque to a Spanish team in the coming summer, as they believe that playing in La Liga will help him adapt to the style and pace of the Spanish top flight.

Time for Guiu to shine?

With Roque potentially hitting the exit door and Robert Lewandowski not getting any younger, the door is wide open for La Masia sensation Marc Guiu to enter the frame.

Reports have argued that Barcelona intends to count more on the 18-year-old next season if Roque departs.

Moreover, talks of a contract renewal with Guiu indicate the Catalans’ strong faith in the player.
