Virginia Kirchberger is back in the Austrian team, while Switzerland will have two SGE players in their ranks as preparations begin for the Women’s EURO.

Five weeks ahead of the start of the European Women’s Championship in England, Germany coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has named her provisional squad that will be preparing for the tournament. As well as Nicole Anyomi, Sara Doorsoun, Laura Freigang, Sophia Kleinherne and Sjoeke Nüsken, it features Merle Frohms who is still under contract at SGE until her move to VfL Wolfsburg in July. Goalkeeper Stina Johannes, who will be joining Eintracht Frankfurt next season, has also received a call-up.

Austria coach Irene Fuhrmann, meanwhile, has called up four SGE players, namely Barbara Dunst, Laura Feiersinger, Verena Hanshaw and – in the defender’s first appearance in the squad since her double leg fracture at the end of November – Virginia Kirchberger.

Two more SGE players will be on duty for Switzerland, namely Géraldine Reuteler and midfielder Sandrine Mauron, who is leaving Eintracht in the summer.
