With the international break just around the corner, managers of national teams are starting to announce the squad lists for the upcoming set of fixtures over the next couple of weeks.
Barcelona will once again have a number of players getting called up to their respective national teams during the second international break of the 2023/24 season.
Now, journalist Pedro Morata via MARCA has advanced the preliminary squad list prepared by Spain manager Luis de la Fuente for their upcoming matches in October.
La Roja are set to face Scotland at home (October 12) and Norway away (October 15) in their UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers during the upcoming international break.
And manager De la Fuente has prepared a large 49-man preliminary squad list for the fixtures, which will be trimmed down to a number between 23-26 on October 6.
As many as six Barcelona players have made the preliminary squad list for Spain’s upcoming matches against Scotland and Norway.
In defence, Alejandro Balde and Inigo Martinez are included, even though the latter has barely played in recent weeks.
Gavi is a mainstay for Spain and will almost certainly be a part of the main list when it is announced. Oriol Romeu also makes the preliminary squad, although his inclusion in the final list remains uncertain.

Lamine Yamal, who made his Spain debut last month, is also on the pre-list, along with fellow forward Ferran Torres, who made his comeback to the national team last month.
With Pedri still recovering from his injury, it does not come as a surprise that he has not made Luis de la Fuente’s preliminary squad list.
Meanwhile, veteran Barcelona defenders Marcos Alonso and Sergi Roberto miss out completely.
However, there is place for Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati, who is currently away at Brighton & Hove Albion, and scored his first goal for the Premier League club this past weekend.
