Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s presence and message during a meeting on Thursday have invigorated Manchester United staff, according to The Athletic.

Joel Glazer and his siblings have not spoken directly to the Red Devils staff en masse since their family’s 2005 takeover and have been operating out of Washington DC and Tampa, Florida.

However, Ratcliffe and his team pledged to be present and regular at the Old Trafford club during their first major meeting with the workers.

The British billionaire told Man United staff that he is not concerned about making money from his £1.25 billion investment.

The boyhood Red Devils fan is only interested in ensuring the club becomes a force to be reckoned with again following his 25% acquisition.

Man United have not won the Premier League since 2013 and last lifted the Champions League in 2008, something Ratcliffe is desperate to change.

He did not mince his words while addressing the staff, telling them there must be improvements on the pitch and in the results.

The OGC Nice owner made it clear that he wants to start measuring achievement at the club based on silverware rather than revenue, urging everybody to start focusing on that priority.

The staff were impressed with his honesty, leaving the meeting inspired and full of belief.

Ratcliffe is eager to hit the ground running, but major changes will have to wait until the Premier League ratify his deal.

As a result, major squad additions are unexpected this month, with the summer transfer a more feasible time for Man United to make key signings.

They are only competing in the Premier League and FA Cup for the rest of the season, having been eliminated from Europe and the League Cup.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be desperate to make a huge impression on his new employers over the next few months.

Whether the Dutchman can do that with the current players is debatable, but it will no longer be business as usual at Man United and Ratcliffe is ready to put his money where his mouth is.
