Sint Truiden go into their final game of the season with their fate in their own hands. If they beat Kortrijk, or match the result of Cercle Brugge, they will be playing Pro League football again next season. Even if they do achieve this, one player who will be attracting plenty of interest is Belgian/Italian striker Adriano Bertaccini. The 24-year-old has 20 goals going into the final game of the season and will be hoping to add some more. He is level on goals with Genk’s Tolu Arokodare, but the Nigerian has a few more games to go to get ahead.
Bertaccini joined the side after 11 goals in 18 games for RFC Liege in the Belgian second tier last season. He rarely featured under Thorsten Fink after joining, with four goals in 13 appearances, mainly off the bench. This season, however, he has proven to be one of the best strikers in the league. His ability to get in behind and constant energy has endeared him to the Sint Truiden fans. Moreover, it will have caught the eye of plenty of other Belgian sides, and potentially some Italian sides as well. Serie A teams have actively recruited in Belgium in recent years, and Bertaccini has already stated how he would be happy to play football in Italy.
With a contract running until 2027, Sint Truiden are under no obligation to sell. Transfermarkt value the striker at €3m, but it is likely the club would want to get a lot more for their top scorer. Bertaccini is certainly one to watch going into the upcoming transfer window.
