Sint Truiden have officially sacked Felice Mazzu. The club made the announcement today stating that the poor result at the weekend against Kortrijk was the main reason, alongside declining performances in recent weeks. However, yesterday it was reported that they had lined up Hernan Losada as Mazzu’s replacement, yet today it has been revealed that no agreement has been reached between the two sides. Therefore, there is a clear risk here that Sint Truiden will not have appointed a head coach before their crucial clash with Cercle Brugge at the weekend.
Mazzu has had a difficult time since leaving Union St Gilloise a few seasons ago. After almost guiding the Brussels side to the title, he joined Anderlecht the following summer. Things did not go well for Mazzu with the Mauves and he was eventually sacked. He then ended up at Charleroi from November 2022 until March 2024, when he was also sacked. Where he will go next remains to be seen, as he will likely need to find a club where he can rebuild his reputation.
