After leaving Kortrijk, not many expected Didier Lamkel Ze to ever find another club in Belgium. The clearly talented striker appeared to have burnt too many bridges in Belgium to be welcomed back. However, according to Het Nieuwsblad, the striker could be set for a shock return to the Pro League. Struggling Sint Truiden have been offered the services of the 28-year-old Cameroonian forward.
It is not clear whether or not they will take a risk. On his day, Lamkel Ze is one talented forward who can conjure up moments of magic. Yet off the field, he can present a constant head ache for managers and club hierarchies. He started this season in Türkiye with Fatih Karagumruk, but he has agreed a contract termination after just 12 games. He scored three goals for the club.
Lamkel Ze has had two spells in Belgium previously. He scored 21 goals for Antwerp in 88 games, but caused problems when he turned up to training wearing an Anderlecht shirt. This was just one of a number of incidents during his time at the club. He then went away before returning for a 10 game spell with Kortrijk, where he scored once. He then left the club, claiming that he was better than the club. Since then he has bounced around from Wydad Casablanca to Hatayspor and his most recent Turkish side.
It seems unlikely that Sint Truiden will take a risk, despite the potential rewards, on signing the forward. However, stranger things have happened.
