The third round of the 2023/24 Carabao Cup welcomes Manchester City into the competition, as Pep Guardiola’s side look to reclaim a once-favoured tournament.

Ahead of the eagerly-awaited draw in the League Cup, City Xtra have now simulated proceedings for the third round, ahead of the real-life event itself that is due to follow the remaining second round contests on Wednesday night.
Our simulation featured a trip to south Wales for Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United squad at the third round stage, while Liverpool would play host to Unai Emery’s ever-impressing Aston Villa.
Elsewhere and Arsenal were pitted against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace, while for Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad, they would start their hunt for another Carabao Cup crown away at Brentford.

The third round draw for the Carabao Cup is expected to take place on Wednesday 30th August at around 22:15 BST, following the conclusion of Doncaster Rovers’ second round tie against Everton.
The third round draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event for viewers in the United Kingdom.
