Simone Inzaghi Hoping South American Inter Players Return Fully Fit From World Cup Qualifiers, Italian Media Report

Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping that his squad is not affected by the participation of South Americans in the squad in World Cup qualifiers over the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach is carefully watching the situations of the players on international duty and hoping that they can return fit and ready.

Fewer Inter players have gone away for international duty than in previous breaks, with only the Italian and South American internationals having World Cup qualifying matches to play.

Lautaro Martinez and Matias Vecino both have qualifiers to play, although in the former case his Argentine national team has already qualified and so will be playing under less question.

With Alexis Sanchez, however, the situation has given Inzaghi some cause for worry, as the 33-year-old will face two do-or-die qualifiers with Chile.

Sanchez has twice suffered significant injuries while away with the national team, and Inzaghi will be hoping that the forward can get through the matches and return ready for the Nerazzurri’s run of fixtures after the break.
