Diego Simeone has addressed the media ahead of the club’s clash with Getafe this weekend.
Here is what he had to say.
“I am at peace. Since I arrived I gave everything, and it will be like that until the last day. I have one year left on my contract.”
“The departure of the Brazilians and Portuguese? I am grateful to all the boys who left. We became champions with most of them being important. Felipe, Joao with his first round, Lodi against Osasuna. Matheus played less, but he transmitted will and effort.
“All four have been important at the time and I wish them all the best.”
“I’m happy with Nahuel Molina. He’s been heavily criticized and the best thing that could have happened to him was what happened in the first stage, where he wasn’t at his best.
“At the World Cup he was one of the best fullbacks and he came back with confidence. He has improved defensively. He has earned everything through hard work.”
“Rodrigo [De Paul] is an extraordinary player. He showed it in Argentina, had great moments in the first season, and during the last one when there were difficulties in the last 14 games, and now he’s returning to that line. I hope.”
“Getafe has been struggling, but they have competed very well in all the recent games they have played. We have to continue with the same enthusiasm with which the team is competing and continue to grow.”
