Simba SC wants to extend Moussa Camara's contract: What are the details?
Press reports have revealed that Simba SC are currently considering renewing the contract of their star player, Guinean goalkeeper Moussa Camara, after his contract expired on June 25. While it was clear that the player might seek a new experience outside of Tanzania, it appears he is now close to renewing his contract in Tanzania rather than exploring other options.
In fact, the Tanzanian club is keen to keep its veteran player and has made him a tempting financial offer, as the Tanzanian club wants to maintain technical stability for itself and its team for the coming season.
Guinean goalkeeper Musa Camara, who arrived from Horoya just last season, has quickly cemented himself as a key figure for Simba SC—particularly during their impressive CAF Confederation Cup campaign. Now a free agent, the 25-year-old shot-stopper is on the verge of re-signing with the Tanzanian giants following an improved financial offer.
Exclusive sources confirm Simba has tabled a two-year contract extension, raising Camara’s monthly salary to $12,000 (excluding performance bonuses). The proposal has been well received by the player and his representatives, with final details under negotiation. Notably, the deal is expected to include a $1 million release clause—a testament to the rising stock of the Conakry-born keeper, who kept over 15 clean sheets last season.
Currently valued at €250k by Transfermarkt, Camara—affectionately nicknamed "Benben" in his homeland—has yet to receive concrete offers from other clubs. Simba now moves decisively to secure their defensive linchpin as preseason preparations intensify.
