Fans react as Everton and Tottenham play out 2-2 draw at Goodison Park

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of finishing in the top four took another hit as they played out a 2-2 draw against Everton in the Premier League on Friday night.

Things were off to a good start for Spurs with Harry Kane handing us the lead midway through the first period. However, Everton struck back almost immediately as Sergio Reguilon fouled James Rodriguez inside the box to award the hosts a penalty which ex-Spurs man Gylfi Sigurdsson dispatched with ease.

Sigurdsson doubled Everton’s lead with a fine finish in the second period but Kane was our saviour again as he capitalised on a defensive mishap by the Toffees to find the back of the net and draw us back on level terms. Everton had a few late chances to win the game but they did not take them as both teams ended up sharing the spoils.

It was a result that did little good to either team. Tottenham remain seventh, five points below West Ham in fourth, who have a game in hand. While the result in itself was disappointing, there was another major concern for Tottenham as star man Kane hobbled off with an injury late in the game. Hopefully, it is nothing major given as we will be playing the Carabao Cup in a very short time.

Here’s how some of the fans reacted to the outcome of the game at Goodison Park.
