Manchester City appear to be intensifying their transfer activity surrounding both Ederson and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, according to new reports.

City have identified Donnarumma as their primary goalkeeping target should Ederson complete a move to Galatasaray in the final weeks of the summer transfer window, with the Blues understood to have agreed personal terms with Donnarumma.

Ederson is entering the final 12 months of his current contract at the Etihad Stadium and after failing to engineer a transfer to the Saudi Pro League in 2024, the 31-year-old is keen on a new challenge after eight seasons in England.

Manchester City do not wish to sell Ederson and consider the Brazilian part of their plans for the 2025-26 but a sale will be considered should the six-time Premier League winner inform club officials of a desire to leave and an acceptable offer make its way to the Etihad Stadium.

Galatasaray presented an opening proposal worth €10 million to City last week, with officials at the Etihad Stadium believed to be dissatisfied with the initial bid and holding out for an offer in the region of €35 million.

Meanwhile, Donnarumma has given his go-ahead to join forces with Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium after an ugly parting of ways with Paris Saint-Germain over a contract dispute just months after the French giants’ first-ever UEFA Champions League title win.

According to new information from Fabrizio Romano, Donnarumma is patiently waiting to join Manchester City with an agreement on personal terms ‘almost OK’ amid ‘very positive’ conversations over a contract.

From the side of the club-to-club talks, the latest report details that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain’s conversations this week are ‘advancing quite well’.

“Donnarumma is ready to go to Manchester City, he’s attracted by this possibility,” Romano said this week. “Donnarumma is prepared to go there, is prepared to compete, he’s prepared to do his best for Pep Guardiola.

“The player is absolutely super keen on a move to Manchester City.”

However, any move for the Italian remains entirely dependant on Ederson leaving the Etihad Stadium as he continues to be at the centre of transfer attention from Galatasaray in Turkey.

Offering the latest on that particular situation, Fabrizio Romano added: “I’m still told Galatasaray are working on Ederson, negotiating with Ederson’s agents, and with Manchester City about Ederson’s fee. This remains the case.”
