Liverpool have some decisions to make this summer and one of them will potentially be around who replaces Gini Wijnaldum at the club.

The Dutchman is coming towards the end of his contract and it is still unclear as to whether he’s going to sign a new deal.

With that said, news that Brighton are open to selling Yves Bissouma this summer could well come at a perfect time for the Reds.

There are obvious similarities between Bissouma and Wijnaldum at the moment.

Both are very good at getting about the pitch and picking up intelligent positions as well as wriggling free and beating opposing presses with the ball at their feet.

Of course, Bissouma is not at the level at Wijnaldum but Gini himself improved greatly since arriving from Newcastle and, indeed, you can see another comparison with Bissouma arriving from Brighton and then kicking on.

Evidently, the Seagulls are willing to let the player go for the right price and, if Wijnaldum does leave this summer, he could be the ideal replacement for the Dutchman.

We’ll soon see whether the Reds opt to take Brighton up on the offer.
