Old men like me have certainly had a shot to the heart.
It’s amazing what progressing to a semi-final can do in terms of an adrenaline boost, when it comes to the best team any man could support.
I’m talking about Newcastle United of course.
Aye, a Carabao Cup semi-final against the now almost aristocratic Arsenal.
My old mates were bouncing after the draw and the feeling was ‘bring them on, nowt to be scared of.’
There is no over confidence here.
Just a belief that our team can overcome the odds and get to Wembley again.
I’m now expecting a performance today against Ipswich to back up that great result in the cup against Brentford.
We have a magnificent chance to climb the Premier League table and completely and finally get our season off the ground.
In Eddie Howe we trust, as we enter another festive period.
I’ve a distinct feeling he is going to turn out like Santa Claus and deliver the goodies.
