In his final death knell as a credible Rangers manager, Philippe Clement has dismissed the loss to Celtic as not that important by highlighting to the media the fact Rangers won 6-0 v Ross County the week before, before then pretty much saying the same thing to angry supporters back at Ibrox.
While the scenes are ugly for sure, it’s not as ugly as Clement’s inferred insistence that stats are more important than results, as he preached back to the County result as evidence to be ‘less angry’ about losing humiliatingly to Celtic yet again.
In a way, we are glad Rangers fans are this upset – it would be worrying if our supporters were accepting this rubbish, and even though it’s not nice seeing the supporters rant at the club personnel, it shows passion and an unwilling to settle for the nonsense we’re seeing.
Fans have definitely lost patience with PC’s poor management, and his appalling excuses aren’t washing any more – things change when Celtic humiliate you four times in a row, and if the manager can’t recognise that it isn’t good enough, he’s not for us.
No Rangers manager should ever try to justify a Celtic defeat, it’s completely unacceptable and his press performances since about February/March have been absolutely abysmal.
In every sense, it’s the Belgian Beale now, as this guy, who at least did address the raging fans, rants about borderline caravans and barking dogs.
He’s not up to it, and supporters see that now.
Unfortunately, yet another horrible board decision means Rangers are in the brown stuff to fire him.
What a mess.
