Shkodran Mustafi signs for Schalke after terminating Arsenal deal

Schalke have signed Shkodran Mustafi after his contract at Arsenal was terminated.
The Bundesliga bottom side made the move after losing defender Ozan Kabak to Liverpool earlier in the day.
Mustafi has signed a six-month deal at the VELTINS Arena after coming to an agreement with the Gunners to be released from his deal in North London.
The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour with Mikel Arteta, falling behind Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhāes, David Luiz and Pablo Mari in the pecking order.
The German international has never made a senior appearance for a club in the country, starting off at as a youth prospect at Hamburg before moving to Everton.
He completed a transfer to Sampdoria in 2012 when he made over 50 appearances for the club before signing for Valencia in 2013/14.
After signing for Arsenal for a reported £35m in 2016, Mustafi went on to feature in over 150 games for the club winning the FA Cup last season.
