So the new Rangers home shirt is officially out—Umbro’s first proper crack since taking the reins from Castore. And going by our Ibrox Noise fan poll, it’s already an overwhelming hit.
Thousands of you voted on the new design, and the results are conclusive: a massive 52% of our readers love the new shirt. That’s not just approval—it’s a total embrace. For a support as demanding as ours, that is a colossal win for Umbro and their debut effort.
Next up, 25% said “It’s ok”, which is decent enough. It’s the kind of reaction you’d expect when folk aren’t bowled over, but still appreciate the tradition and effort. Meanwhile, only 11% voted “Like it,” suggesting a slightly reserved endorsement—not head over heels, but still satisfied.
But here’s the clincher: just 8% of fans voted “Meh”, and a mere 4% actually said they “Dislike it.” That’s a combined 12% who weren’t won over. In other words, 88% of the support are either fully behind it or at least content. That’s a landslide.
We’ve been covering the Umbro return extensively, and the hope was always that their throwback style would resonate. And after the disaster of Castore’s tenure, fans were desperate for something classic, clean, and worthy of the jersey.
This shirt seems to be exactly that. Traditional blue, subtle design details, and a real feel of retro with modern quality. It’s a world away from some of the gimmicky failures we had to endure last season.
And it’s not just Ibrox Noise readers taking notice—industry analysts are also praising the shirt’s quality, calling it one of the cleanest Umbro releases of the year across Europe.
So, is this a turning point for Rangers kits? It might just be. With fan support this strong, and the club back under the wing of a proper sportswear brand, we might finally be getting the kits we deserve.
Umbro’s first effort? A huge win. And the fans have spoken.
