Sheffield Wednesday have had their points deduction for the 2020/21 Championship season reduced following an appeal.
In August, the Owls filed an appeal against their sanction for breaking spending rules after being hit with a 12-point penalty.
A League Arbitration Panel has now partially upheld the decision of the EFL Discplinary Commission and have reduced their sanction to six points.
The club claim they are ‘digesting the content of the decision and will provide no further comment at the moment’.
Wednesday had sat bottom of the table with -1 points after three wins and two draws from their opening 10 games.
This decision will now see them rise above Wycombe Wanderers, although they remain one point off the safety positions.
