Two of League One’s promotion hopefuls are set to meet at what will likely be a very snowy Hillsborough this afternoon as Sheffield Wednesday host Wycombe Wanderers.

You’d hope the game will go ahead despite the weather because it’s shaping up to be a fantastic contest as both sides look for their third win on the bounce.

Common wisdom in League One is that if you finish above the Chairboys, you should be in the play-offs at the very least and Darren Moore’s team have a chance to close the gap on them to just two points with a win today.

The pair were both relegated from the Championship on the dramatic final day last season and second-placed Wycombe have made the better start to life back in the third tier but the Owls look to have turned things around recently.

A win against Gareth Ainsworth’s side would be a real statement of intent, so this afternoon’s contest promises to be an enthralling one.

Latest team news

Wednesday will be without both Dennis Adeniran and Marvin Johnson, though the pair are back training with the medical team as they continue their recovery from injury.

Long-term absentees Sam Hutchinson and Dominic Iorfa will both be missing but there were no new injuries in the MK Dons victory in midweek.

New arrival Nathaniel Mendez-Laing could be in line to make his Wednesday debut while Callum Paterson may return to the squad after missing out on Tuesday night.

Ainsworth, meanwhile, has his full squad available for this afternoon’s League One tie at Hillsborough.

Is there a live stream?

Due to the 3pm blackout, audio commentary will be available but there will not be a live stream available for anyone watching in the UK.

The game will be streamed via iFollow for those overseas, however.

What time is kick-off?

The game at Hillsborough is due to kick-off at 3pm this afternoon, meaning team news will be out at 2pm.

Hopefully, it all goes ahead despite the abject weather in South Yorkshire.
