Sheffield Wednesday have decided to part ways with manager Xisco Muñoz.

The decision arrives after the loss to West Brom on Tuesday recorded the worst start to a season in the club’s history.

Following the latest defeat, Muñoz shared his frustrations, expressing, “All I can do is say sorry.”

Backroom staff members Miguel Muñoz, Miguel Gomila, Roberto Cuesta Roman and Antonello Brambilla have also departed.

Eight losses from 10 matches leaves Sheffield Wednesday with only two points out of a possible 30.

The club’s U21 manager Neil Thompson will take over for the weekend with a new manager search officially underway.
