Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl has warned his team that they haven't done their job just yet, speaking to the Irish News.

These comments came after the Owls' 3-1 win against Blackburn Rovers, a result which has taken them out of the relegation zone.

Wednesday made a brilliant start at Ewood Park, with Josh Windass executing an excellent lob in the sixth minute to put the visitors 1-0 up.

Blackburn equalised minutes later through the prolific Sammie Szmodics, but Marvin Johnson's strike allowed the away side to retake the lead in the 58th minute, before Aynsley Pears' freak own goal sealed the three points.

Following his game, Rohl's side has managed to boost their chances of survival considerably, having spent much of the season in the drop zone.

Managing to climb out of the bottom three, they will be hoping to finish the job in the next couple of weeks, with two games left to go.

They face West Bromwich Albion at Hillsborough, before making the trip to the Stadium of Light on the final day to play Sunderland.

Rohl on Sheffield Wednesday after Blackburn Rovers clash: "The job is not done"

With this win in mind, the Owls' squad will be on a high at the moment, but their boss has brought them back down to earth with a sobering message in his post-match press conference.

He told the Irish News: "The job is not done.

"We worked hard to be out of this (relegation) zone. Six months, we tried everything. Today we took the opportunity. The last four-five weeks we’ve had the opportunity. But today all in all we connected our performance with a good result.

"I think when I look back to our performance against Stoke and Swansea, was good, but the result was not what we wanted. Today…a good reaction. I feel this the whole week. We trained well.

"I think today it was a courageous performance from my team. We forced them into mistakes, we played football how we wanted to play.

"It was a good togetherness on the pitch but also off the pitch with our massive support. They made an away game into a home game, so (a) big thank you to everybody. The performance of my team and especially the mindset and mentality is outstanding."

Sheffield Wednesday have a difficult task in their quest to survive

The Owls still have two games to go, as mentioned.

They may be at home against West Brom, something that could give them a real boost, but the Baggies have plenty to play for.

With a play-off place not secure, they need to keep going and they will take plenty of confidence from their performance at Leicester City last weekend.

They may have lost at the King Power Stadium, but they were extremely lively and were unlucky not to get themselves on the scoresheet more than once in their 2-1 defeat.

The Black Cats won't have anything to play for in the final day and that could work in the Owls' favour, but it will still be a tough away game.
