Sheffield United’s Jack Robinson takes aim at Nottingham Forest as play-off needle lingers | OneFootball

The first leg took place on Saturday at Bramall Lane with Nottingham Forest coming away victorious through Jack Colback and Brennan Johnson goals, despite Sander Berge getting one back for the Blades in the 91st minute.

The celebrations in the Forest end were big but Sheffield United defender Jack Robinson felt this was unnecessary and will use it as motivation for this game, as he told The Star: “You can never celebrate too early. It’s half-time, that’s what it is and there’s a hell of a long way to go. There’s 90 minutes left yet and we are going to fight for it and we are going to fight for it and give it everything, 100 percent. Our fans will get behind us and we will put them under pressure at their own ground.”

Robinson felt that, if anything, Saturday’s game reassured him that his side are still in the game, as he said: “You can’t say they were unbelievable on the day. It was one of those games when maybe the occasion affects us a bit. They out-performed us on the day, fair play. It was one of those matches for us that can happen from time to time. But we have got more experience than them and, for me, that’s going to be crucial. Experience.

“We’ve watched it back, the game. We’ve seen where we went wrong and we know we can rectify it. We know we can get tighter to them. We stepped off it a little bit. We’ll be much more front-footed this time, that’s what we’re planning to do.”

The Verdict:

You can understand the celebrations from the Nottingham Forest players and fans after the first leg of the game given how they were able to come out victorious away from home, which gives them momentum to take into the tie where they will have a lot of fans of their side.

However, as Robinson rightly says, this is only half time and the job isn’t done from Nottingham Forest, with United having a great chance to get back into the game themselves.

The Blades know they didn’t do as well as they should’ve on Saturday but will now be going into this game with the intention of putting it right and hoping to progress to the play-off final.

Robinson and his side will have no doubt felt jealous when Forest and their fans were celebrating at the weekend, so they will be hoping it’s them who get the glory this evening.
