A report from Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande has stated that Fulham have declared interest in Sheffield United midfielder Vinicius Souza. It is thought that the Cottagers have had a £15 million bid rejected by the Blades.

Fulham have recently just sold their star defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha for a club-record sale, so the West Londoners are in search for midfield reinforcements.

Sheffield United want huge fee for midfielder

According to Alan Nixon, United want at least £30 million for the 25-year-old, who, let’s be honest, didn’t have the best of debut seasons in the Premier League. Vinicius Souza had an okay start to life at Bramall Lane, but very quickly he become an apparent problem with his lack of fight and determination to even do the basics such as tracking his runners.

Souza very quickly became the villain of S2 when he came out and made a public dig at the club back in March. The midfielder claimed he was not being selected for the Brazil national team due to Sheffield United, rather than owning up to his own poor performances.

He told Coluna Do Fla: “Not because of me, but because of the situation at my club. I think that for the national team it’s a bit of a problem. That’s my opinion. But not in relation to my football. I think that for my football I could [get called up], I really could. But there’s the whole thing, you know.

“My team doesn’t keep the ball much either. That’s very important for the national team.”

As per Nixon’s report, Souza is very keen to leave Sheffield United this summer and has interest from various clubs across Europe. Blades fans have known for a while that Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic departing would be a strong possibility.

Whilst the rumours circulate regarding Fulham’s interest in Vinicius Souza, an exclusive report from GiveMeSport has revealed that Marco Silva’s team have already opened negotiations for Joao Palhinha’s replacement, and it’s not Souza. As a matter of fact it is Souza’s countryman Andre, the Fluminense defensive minded midfielder.

Andre, 22, has racked up over 180 games for the Brazilian club scoring four times and making four assists. Unlike the Blades midfielder, Andre has already been granted his debut for the Brazil national team in June 2023 and has since made a total of five appearances.

Fluminense are currently at the bottom of the Brasileirao Serie A and could be about to lose on of their prized assets.

Sheffield United pushing to sign Kieffer Moore

In other news it is thought that the Blades are pushing hard to sign Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore, who is also wanted by Hull City. The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has claimed Chris Wilder’s side can get a deal done for the Welshman even without a takeover being approved by the EFL.

With only 12 months left on his deal with the Cherries, and likely a one-year option in his contract, the Premier League club are open to selling the 31-year-old or a loan-to-buy deal.

According to FBref, he ranked in the 91st percentile for non-penalty goals among Championship forwards, showcasing his exceptional finishing ability. He also excelled in several other key areas: 96th percentile for total shots, 79th for shots on target, and 75th for goals per shot. However, his 46th percentile ranking in non-penalty expected goals per shot indicates that Moore often scores from less favorable positions, underscoring his skill in converting difficult chances.

A closer look at his playing style reveals a preference for direct play. Moore’s statistics further highlight his attacking contributions: he ranked in the 83rd percentile for touches in the attacking third, showing his active involvement in forward play. More impressively, he was in the 99th percentile for touches in the opposition penalty area, underscoring his significant presence. His ability to receive progressive passes was reflected in a 76th percentile ranking, while his dominance in aerial duels was unparalleled, with a 99th percentile ranking for percentage of aerial duels won.

Blades will want Daniel Jebbison to succeed at Bournemouth

It was confirmed earlier this week that promising forward Daniel Jebbison has left United following his contract expiry. But due to the Blades offering him a contract they are entitled to compensation.

According to the Rules and Regulations of both the Premier League and the English Football League (EFL), when a club signs an out-of-contract player under the age of 24, it must compensate the player’s former club. This rule ensures that the former club is reimbursed for its investment in the young player’s training and development. The system is designed to promote and reward clubs for nurturing young talent, ensuring they are compensated for the resources and efforts spent during the player’s formative years.

The 20-year-old made a total of 35 appearances for the Blades, scoring three goals and providing one assist. Unfortunately, his development has been hindered over the past year due to a combination of injuries and a health scare during last summer’s pre-season.

Bournemouth and Sheffield United have agreed on a compensation package worth £1.5 million. The Star journalist, Danny Hall, has also revealed the Blades will be due further payments if Jebbison reaches certain performance based add-ons. In addition to this, there is a sell-on percentage attached to the deal. Jebbison has signed a four-year deal with Bournemouth.
