Chloe Kelly, Niamh Charles and Alex Greenwood all scored from the spot, while Hannah Hampton made two saves during the shootout.

It is an incredible achievement for the Lionesses, who set a number of records during Euro 2025.

Their win caught the interest of many celebrities, including some surprising names from outside the sporting world.

How did Shania Twain react to England’s Euro 2025 victory?

Country superstar Shania Twain congratulated England on social media after their Euro 2025 victory, leading the celebrity reaction for the Lionesses’ triumph.

The Canadian singer known for songs including ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman,’  and ‘You’re Still the One,’ is a surprising fan of the Lionesses.

Before the final, she replied to a tweet from the official account of The Royal Family, which wrote: “Let’s go girls. Wishing the very best of luck to the Lionesses in the Women’s Euro final this evening.”

Twain responded: “Took the words out of my mouth your majesty!”

The term ‘let’s go girls’ is the opening line to Twain’s hit single ‘That Don’t Impress me Much’. She also referenced the line after the game when celebrating the Lionesses’ triumph.

Twain wrote: “SO happy for the Lionesses. Let’s f***ing go girls.”

Her post accompanied a picture of Twain alongside England captain Leah Williamson, when the singer performed at Glastonbury last year.

Fans responded to Twain, using puns from some of her song lyrics in reaction to her tweet about the Lionesses.

One wrote: “Looks like they made it,” while another added: “I’m sure that impressed you much”.

Other celebrity reactions to England’s Euro 2025 final win

A host of other celebrity stars gave their reactions to England’s Euro 2025 final win after their success last night.

Former men’s England captain David Beckham posted a series of pictures congratulating the Lionesses.

On Instagram he personally congratulated Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, manager Sarina Wiegman, keeper Hannah Hampton, and Michelle Agyemang,

Piers Morgan wrote: “BOOOM! Well done @Lionesses – and great to see an Arsenal star score the winning penalty. Congrats @chloekelly,”

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and comedian Alan Carr posted videos celebrating England’s win after watching the final in Greece.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer penned: “Champions! Congratulations @Lionesses — what a team. What a game. What drama. You dug deep when it mattered most and you’ve made the nation proud. History makers.”

Starmer though refused to put in place a bank holiday, despite suggesting for previous governments to do so when England were about to play in the finals of Euro 2022 and the 2023 World Cup.

She Kicks launched their own petition calling for a bank holiday, which until now has received 6,538 signatures.
