SFA stitch up Rangers with shock Old Firm decision | OneFootball

Rangers fans are in disbelief this morning with the confirmation Willie Collum will be in charge this weekend when the Ibrox side travels to Parkhead in what may just be one of the biggest stitch-ups in recent Scottish football memory.

Having deliberately and systematically ensured Rangers did not get a penalty at Parkhead, Rangers protested the VAR ref of the day and insisted he did not get a Rangers match again.

Not only was that ignored but the SFA have decided to compound it by giving Collum the full main gig on Saturday in a decision that can only be described as green-tinted.

Ibrox Noise has always been fair about refs, we’ve always been more neutral than most Rangers fan groups about the men in black. They don’t have it easy AND they’re underqualified and undertrained.

But that said Collum was evidently guilty of culpable neglect that day, making a massive error then covering it up and his being in charge of this upcoming Old Firm is a poor decision that evidently has been made with the home side in mind.

Purely on a ‘legal’ point of view he should not be getting this gig – he has shown incredible incompetency at this level before, and his decision to cover up and conceal his own massive mistake was deeply unprofessional.

We didn’t strictly agree with Rangers throwing a massive fuss about it, and demanding Collum be banned from our matches, but we did agree that he should be kept well away from them anyway.

Not only have the SFA defied that, they’ve doubled down on it and rewarded the man with the biggest match in Rangers’ recent history, and the very corresponding fixture to the one he screwed up so badly in.

It’s a bizarre, dumb, dimwitted and potentially biased choice made by some who want a particularly outcome this weekend.

We’re not blaming Collum for Rangers losing at Parkhead – we were rotten, end of story. It would be a nonsense to blame the ref.

But his incompetency didn’t exactly help matters.

And it sure won’t help this weekend either.
