Sevilla’s LaLiga title hopes were dealt a crushing blow after Iñaki Williams scored a 90th-minute winner to earn a 1-0 win for Athletic Club.

Lucas Ocampos almost made the perfect start for Sevilla when he touched Suso’s low cross just over on the stretch inside the opening seven minutes.

Youssef En-Nesyri and Unai Simón then embarked on a head-to-head match-up with the Athletic goalkeeper producing an unbelievable one-handed save to deny the Moroccan’s header.

Simón then clawed the ball back off the line after he had originally spilt a shot from the Sevilla striker.

Julen Lopetegui’s side were on top for the majority of the first-half but didn’t turn their dominance into a lead and were nearly caught cold at the start of the second but Asier Villalibre’s shot flew just wide of the far post.

Sevilla cranked up the pressure as they searched for a pivotal goal with En-Nesyri headed against side-netting but the heartbreaking moment was yet to come.

The visitors took advantage of Sevilla bombing forward to deal the sucker punch in the last minute of normal time with Iñaki Williams curling a counter-attack off into the top corner.

Sevilla now sit six points behind league leaders Atlético Madrid ahead of the trip to Real Madrid on Sunday.
