The powers that be at La Liga outfit Sevilla have identified Fotis Ioannidis as a leading summer transfer target.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing journalist Bruno Andrade, who points towards the Nervionenses as having joined both Sporting CP and Atalanta in the hunt for frontman Ioannidis.

The Greek, for his part, has enjoyed something of a breakout season in his home country in 2023/24.

Lining out for Super League giants Panathinaikos, Ioannidis has racked up a head-turning 20 goals and seven assists across 36 appearances to date.

And such exploits have proven enough, it would appear, to catch the eye of those in a position of power at The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

As per the aforementioned MD, Sevilla are planning something of an overhaul in their attacking ranks, with a view to next season.

The long transfer-linked Youssef En-Nesyri could at long last be on the move, with Rafa Mir also looking likely to depart, and Alejo Véliz primed to return to England with Tottenham Hotspur.

Should sufficient funds be brought in, the Nervionenses are in turn expected to move for Ioannidis, for whom Panathinaikos are understood to be seeking an initial €15 million, followed by a further €5 million in add-ons.
