Sevilla set sights on Arsenal midfielder | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga outfit Sevilla have identified a member of the midfield ranks at Arsenal as a summer transfer target.

That’s according to El Correo de Andalucía, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Sambi Lokonga as the player in question.

Lokonga, for his part, is set to link back up with parent club Arsenal over the coming weeks, after a spell on loan with Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

Out of favour under Gunners headmaster Mikel Arteta, however, the Belgian international is widely expected to be swiftly shifted once more.

And eager to take advantage of Lokonga’s impending availability, as alluded to above, are the brass at Sevilla.

The Nervionenses are on the hunt for reinforcements in the middle of the park, owing to the respective departures of Boubakary Soumaré and Lucien Agoumé.

And Lokonga, who was previously linked with a move to Andalusia prior to joining Arsenal, is firmly back on the agenda.

As per MD:

‘Sevilla is interested again and the sports management led by Víctor Orta could try to incorporate him by looking for formulas that adapt to the new economic reality of the whites.’
