Sevilla make contract offer to Real Madrid captain Ramos | OneFootball

Sevilla have tabled a contract offer to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

The 35-year-old came through Sevilla's youth system and played for the first team before joining Real in 2005, where he has been ever since and has racked up 22 trophies in that time.

Ramos' future is an uncertain one though, with his contract in Madrid expiring at the end of this month and no new deal between player and club yet agreed.

El Primer Palo says Sevilla have offered the centre-back a five-year deal with a £6m annual salary to try and bring him back to the club.

As part of the deal, Ramos, who would be 40 by the time the contract came to an end, would be offered the chance to stay at Sevilla in a non-playing role when he retires.

However, the former Spain captain's relationship with the Sevilla support could be an issue.

The manner of Ramos' departure in 2005 angered many supporters, who had hoped and believed that the player was set to stay at the club for the duration of his career.
