Sevilla have reached an agreement to sign Everton full-back Nathan Patterson on a season-long loan, according to renowned Toffees insider on X, El Bobble.

Everton manager David Moyes has started the season with Jake O’Brien as his first-choice right-back at the Hill Dickinson Stadium club.

Patterson could struggle to play regularly if he remains with the Toffees beyond the summer transfer deadline, and he wants to leave temporarily.

The reliable Everton insider (followed by the likes of Alan Myers, Fabrizio Romano, Jason Burt and Christopher Beesley on social media) reported via X on Monday morning that the Merseyside club want to strengthen before allowing the 23-year-old to leave.

The Scotland International made 11 appearances across all competitions last term, and he knows he needs to play regularly this term to go to the 2026 World Cup.

It appears Sevilla are promising him that, and the opportunity to play for such a club appeals to him.

They are the most successful club in the Europa League, with seven titles to their name in the second-tier competition of European club football.

Sevilla narrowly escaped relegation last term, finishing just a point and place above the drop zone and they want to recruit top players.

They are convinced that signing Patterson would come in handy, and Everton will not stand in his way once a replacement is secured.

As Alan Myers revealed earlier this month, the Toffees want a right winger, a right-back and a defensive midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Tom King, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou have moved to Everton so far this summer.

Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish has also been signed on loan, and while more additions are expected, more exits could be on the cards.

Patterson could be on his way to Spain until next summer, and his performance there could determine his Everton future.
