Sevilla coach Lopetegui blasts Real Betis players mocking Jordan | OneFootball

Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui was left furious after their Copa del Rey defeat at Real Betis.

Sevilla lost 2-1 after the match resumed on Sunday, having been postponed with the score at 1-1 on Saturday after their midfielder Joan Jordan was struck by a missile.

After the defeat, Lopetegui said: "We are sad to be eliminated from the Copa. Footballingly it was balanced. We had situations where we lacked clarity in the last pass. Almost without having any chance they scored the second. You have to congratulate the rival.

"The first thing is to congratulate Betis for passing to the next round. The second thing is to be clear that the attack that happened does not represent the Betis fans, there are madmen everywhere.

"But third, putting the focus on what is not relevant is unfortunate. Joan Jordán went to hospital. I find it unfortunate that colleagues (Betis players) do what they have done. Jordán is not in the field and the object was not thrown by him.
