The powers that be at La Liga outfit Sevilla have found a definitive contract renewal agreement with defender José Ángel Carmona.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Nervión.
Defender Carmona is for his part in the midst of what has been a hugely productive opening to the campaign.
After returning from a loan spell with Getafe with his future looking altogether unclear, the 22-year-old quickly set about proving his talents to new Sevilla manager García Pimienta.
And, safe to say, such efforts have since proven to be an undeniable success.
Carmona has established himself as an ever-present at the back under García Pimienta, featuring from the off in every one of Sevilla’s 14 La Liga outings thus far in 2024/25.
So much so that the board at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán recently kicked into gear negotiations with the full-back’s representatives, over a contract renewal.
And, as alluded to above, early this week, such discussions have borne fruit.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘José Ángel Carmona will continue at Sevilla. That was the footballer’s wish and it will be fulfilled, after the agreement was reached with the Nervión club to extend his contract.’
The deal, which could be made official as early as this week, is expected to run through the summer of 2028.
