Real Madrid’s points tally should have hit 68 last night, but referee Gil Manzano’s ludicrous decision saw them drop two points despite them scoring a completely legitimate winner on the night.

When opposition players themselves sympathise and speak about the injustice, one knows that a robbery in broad daylight has occurred. What unfolded at Mestalla last night, especially at the end of the game, was nothing short of criminal.

What was the issue?

Working the ball from a final corner, Luka Modric whipped the ball into the area in the dying seconds. The referee had not blown the whistle to this point, legally allowing Los Blancos to continue the play for one final chance.

The ball fell to Brahim Diaz who whipped the cross in. However, the referee blew his whistle before Jude Bellingham headed the ball into the net, thus claiming that he could not count the same.

The incident, the feeling of betrayal and injustice got Real Madrid players fuming on the field. A massive argument erupted with players surrounding the referee, and Joselu was shown a yellow card for dissent while Bellingham received a straight red.

Rampage in the tunnel

As revealed by Radio MARCA, the player’s rage continued well into the dressing room, and the Real Madrid stars were involved in a major brawl.

Vinicius Jr, Antonio Rudiger, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Dani Ceballos were the most involved in the outburst as they did not shy away from showing their dissatisfaction.

Tchouameni was distraught and furious with the referee’s decision and broke the TV interview board in the tunnel with uncontrollable rage.

Apart from Rudiger and Tchouameni who were fuming, Ceballos, Vinicius, and members of Real Madrid’s staff confronted security members after the game while there was also an altercation with someone from the Valencia bench.

Footage shows a member of the Valencia staff having a go at Vinicius, with Rudiger then confronting him and asking him to meet in the tunnel.

Needless to say, the situation got out of hand last night as tempers flared following a hugely controversial call by the referee.
