FC Barcelona had a tricky fixture scheduled for themselves as they visited Andalusia for their La Liga game against Sevilla. This game was quite important for the Blaugranes, as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid had fought out a draw in their recent Madrid derby, and the Catalans had a golden chance to cut their deficit at the top of the La Liga table.

The game was quite difficult for the visitors, as the first half finished with a 1-1 scoreline. They went ahead in the very first minute of the second half, but saw one of their players, Fermin Lopez, sent off in the 62nd minute and thus had to play half an hour with a numerical disadvantage.

As a result, the rest of the Blaugrana players had to put in a greater effort to see out the game, and these efforts bore fruit as they emerged victorious with a 1-4 scoreline.

Following such an exhausting late match, Hansi Flick has rewarded his players with a well-deserved three-day break. The squad will have Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off before returning to training on Thursday, especially since their next fixture against Rayo Vallecano is more than a week away.

However, the journalist Carlos Monfort reports that several players showed great commitment to the team by appearing at the training facilities even on this off-day. The players who showed up for training on Monday included Ansu Fati, Wojciech Szczęsny, Andreas Christensen, Iñaki Peña, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Fermín Lopez, and Robert Lewandowski.

This action goes on to show the seriousness with which all of these players are approaching their duties with Barcelona. The gesture of training even on an off day can help the likes of Fati, and Peña impress Hansi Flick and thus get more game time in the coming few matches.

Similarly, this training will hopefully help the more established players like Wojciech Szczesny, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Robert Lewandowski further improve their fitness and remain competitive for the games coming ahead.
