Benjamin Sesko will be presented as a Manchester United player during this weekend’s friendly against Fiorentina at Old Trafford.
Sesko is undergoing his medical at Manchester United on Friday, ahead of an official announcement. The Slovenian striker is set to join the Red Devils from RB Leipzig for an initial fee of £66.3m. The deal could rise to just under £74m with add-ons.
Sesko is set to become Manchester United’s fourth signing of the summer, following deals for Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Diego Leon.
He arrives with a reputation as one of the most promising centre-forwards in Europe, with no u-23 player across Europe’s top-five leagues having scored more goals than the 22-year-old (39) across the last two campaigns.
Manchester United have beaten Newcastle to his signing with the Magpies having launched a club-record bid last week.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Sesko will be unveiled in front of the Old Trafford crowd on Saturday, when Ruben Amorim’s team take on Fiorentina in a pre-season fixture.
The clash will also see David de Gea, now of Fiorentina, recognised for his time as a Manchester United player.
