Benjamin Šeško has signed a five-year deal with Manchester United worth up to £74m.
The 22-year-old joined from RB Leipzig, as United beat Newcastle in the race to acquire the Slovenian striker.
The package includes a guaranteed fee of £66.3m, with the rest consisting of add-ons. It is the most expensive signing Man Utd have made this summer, following the signings of both Matheus Cunha (£62.5m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£65m).
Šeško scored 21 goals for Leipzig in all competitions in the 2024/25 season and could compete with Rasmus Højlund for the no.9 jersey if he decides to stay at the club.
Last week, Højlund said: “My plan is very clear, and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens.
“Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I’m more than ready. I’m feeling sharp, so I welcome everything that comes.”
This competition comes in the form of a young Slovenian prodigy with a lot to prove in the Premier League.
United’s attacking restructure could swing heavily in Ruben Amorim’s favour if all goes to plan ahead of the 2025/26 season.
