An unexpected deal sealed with a Gulf club, despite European interest.
Serigne Fallou Diouf
Serigne Fallou Diouf has signed with Qatar Sports Club this Thursday, August 7, 2025. The Senegalese centre-back, a free agent following the resolution of his dispute with Génération Foot, is heading to the Qatari league. Several European clubs had been tracking him, but a more enticing Qatari project ultimately convinced him.
At just 18, the young defender takes a significant new step in his career by joining Qatar Sports Club, a Doha-based side competing in the Qatari top flight. This transfer brings to a close a lengthy legal saga with his youth club, Génération Foot. The National Chamber for Dispute Resolution of the Senegalese Football Federation ruled in his favor, granting him free agent status.
The 2023 U17 AFCON champion quickly became a target for several European teams, including AS Saint-Étienne, who closely monitored his situation. Italian clubs such as AS Roma and Atalanta Bergamo were also among his suitors. However, the offer from Qatar Sports Club ultimately persuaded Serigne Fallou Diouf to head for the Persian Gulf.
