Check out today’s latest news, updates and rumours from the Serie A transfer market, including Paris Saint-Germain’s desire to snap up a star in Italy after Kylian Mbappe’s exit and the Barcelona temptations of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Although there’s months to go until the start of the summer transfer window, the news cycle has already started to heat up as clubs plan ahead for the 2024-25 season and beyond.

The major news is Mbappe’s decision to leave PSG in the summer, likely to join up with Real Madrid on a free transfer. This has had a domino effect on the European transfer market, and Serie A is involved.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Parisian giants are looking to snap up one of three top Serie A stars once Mbappe leaves in the summer – Inter’s Lautaro Martinez, Milan’s Rafael Leao or Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. All three are available for less than €200m.

This is likely a transfer saga that will rumble on for months and months, so major updates aren’t expected in the near future, but it’s clear that Serie A will ultimately play a role in the transfer story of the summer.

Naples based newspaper Il Mattino provided another update on Barcelona’s serious interest in Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, believing him to be perfect for their preferred 4-3-3 system in Catalonia.

The Partenopei want to lock down the winger to a new deal, but the temptations of a move to Spain could complicate matters ahead of the summer transfer window.

Juventus directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna were in Rome this week to watch Lazio beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League before meeting with Felipe Anderson, Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted.

The Brazilian winger is still an important target for the Old Lady, but they’re not willing to improve upon their €2.5-3m net per season offer.

Tuttosport underlined how the Bianconeri are planning to make some space in their squad in the summer, cutting Paul Pogba, Alex Sandro and likely Moise Kean. The club are also to loan moves for Samuel Iling-Junior, Fabio Miretti and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.

Milan are ready to offer Mike Maignan a new contract worth circa €5m net per season, but this has fallen short of his demands amidst interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich, Calciomercato.com details.
