Juventus have been linked with a number of deals in the press on Thursday, including for Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, a potential swap deal with Fiorentina involving Arthur and Lucas Martinez Quatra and a possible change in terms with Southampton for Carlos Alcaraz.

After a season without European football, the Old Lady are already planning their steps for the 2024-25 season, as they look to secure a top four finish in Serie A by the end of May.

A long term heir for current no.1 Wojciech Szczesny seems to be a priority, as La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Di Gregorio of Monza is of interest. The 26-year-old is valued in the region of €20m by his current employers.

Di Gregorio has also been suggested as a possible successor to Mike Maignan at Milan this month.

Reports on Wednesday also linked young Atalanta ‘keeper Marco Carnesecchi with a potential move to Turin.

Juve are also keen to work on a permanent move away for midfielder Arthur, currently out on loan with Fiorentina after a horrid time with injuries while on loan with Liverpool in 2022-23.

Fiorentina are keen to make the move permanent for the former Barcelona midfielder, but would also like to reduce the cost of their €20m buy option, which is payable over three instalments.

Viola defender Lucas Martinez Quatra could become a key cog in that transaction according to Tuttosport, as Juventus could propose a player-plus-cash deal.

As Fiorentina would like to do with Arthur, Juventus would also like to renegotiate the terms of their buy option for Carlos Alcaraz, currently on loan from Championship promotion hopefuls Southampton.

The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the Allianz Stadium in January on a six month loan deal for a reported fee of €3.7m plus €1.9m in add-ons. There is also a €49.5m buy option, which will become valid in the summer.

However, Juve are not quite ready to activate the clause at the current price, as Alcaraz will have only had around four months to prove his worth in Serie A by the end of the season.

The Bianconeri are considering renegotiating a new loan deal with a possible mandatory buy clause, but would ultimately like to reduce the cost of the eventual transfer fee as per Calciomercato.com.

Southampton’s interest in Matias Soule, currently on loan with Frosinone, could also come into play.
