Francesco Totti would become the oldest footballer to ever play in a Serie A match should he return from retirement, as recently suggested.

The six oldest footballers to have ever played a Serie A game are all goalkeepers, as reported by Transfermarkt, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the first outfield player in that list, ranked in seventh position.

The former Roma legend is the 13th-oldest footballer to have played for a Serie A club, having made his last top-tier appearance in May 2017 at 40 years, eight months, and one day.
