Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga this summer has become one of the most intriguing plots of the transfer window.

The centre-forward, who has made it clear that he intends to leave Napoli, has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Saudi Arabia, and PSG.

Napoli’s high asking price, however, has become the primary hurdle in his signing, as the Italian side demanded that his release clause of €130 million be paid.

Interested parties are holding out, hoping for a discount in the coming days.

Osimhen takes a stand

While the Nigerian centre-forward has been linked with a plethora of clubs in recent days, a recent update from RMC Sport brings good news for the Parisien offices.

As revealed by the Spanish outlet, Napoli have reduced their asking price for Osimhen and are willing to negotiate a fee lower than his release clause.

PSG and Chelsea have already been informed of the same and are planning their next steps. A fee of €75 million is now expected to suffice.

The player has made it his priority to sign for PSG, giving Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s side a massive boost ahead of the final days of the summer transfer window.

Needless to say, the coming days will be eventful for PSG as the player does not consider the Chelsea option seriously anymore.

PSG’s administrators are holding out for the final moments of the window to make an offer and pressure the Naples-based side to accept a lower bid. His contract with Napoli runs until June 2026, giving them an edge in negotiations.

Last season, the 25-year-old striker made 25 Serie A appearances, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists. He also created five big chances and averaged just under one key pass per game.
