Inter 1-1 Sampdoria

Sampdoria took a surprise early lead in Saturday’s away meeting with Inter. Eva Schatzer drove her free-kick through the ball to put the hosts on the back foot. Despite going close on several occasions, Inter had to wait until the 78th minute to level the scoreline. Agnese Bonfantini tapped home from close range after Sampdoria failed to deal with a corner from the right flank.

The home side had to be content with a point, which leaves them in fourth place. As for Sampdoria, they are in eighth position with eight points to their name.

Juventus 4-0 Pomigliano

Title-chasing Juventus brushed aside relegation-threatened Pomigliano to stay within three points of Roma. Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir produced a glancing header from Lindsey Thomas’ inswinging cross to give the host a slender half-time lead. Netherlands international Lineth Beerensteyn doubled Juventus’ advantage in the 66th minute before she quickly added another to register a brace in a third consecutive game for club and country.

There was still time for Barbara Bonansea to net a late spot-kick to open her account for the Serie A season. While Juventus celebrated a fourth consecutive win, Pomigliano fell to their seventh league defeat of the campaign.

Roma 2-1 AC Milan

Roma came from behind to maintain their 100% record in Serie A this term. The hosts trailed at the break after Kosovare Asllani had opened the scoring from the penalty spot. Manuela Giugliano managed to pull her side level in the 58th minute with her fourth league goal of the season. Not content with finding an equaliser, Roma completed the turnaround just after the hour mark. Lucia Di Guglielmo neatly brought down a loose ball, before firing into the bottom corner. While the hosts remain top of the standings, Milan are in sixth place and without a win in five matches.

Napoli 0-0 Como

Newly-promoted Napoli picked up their first point of the Serie A season courtesy of a goalless draw against Como. The visitors thought they had opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark. However, the assistant’s raised flag cut their celebrations short. Although both sides rattled the woodwork in the second period, they ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils. Napoli remain rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table, while Como finished the weekend in fifth position.

Sassuolo 1-2 Fiorentina

After losing to Roma in their previous fixtures, Fiorentina got back on track with a win over Sassuolo. Michela Catena fired past Solène Durand to open the scoring in the 52nd minute. The 23-year-old went on to grab a second, nodding home from Alice Parisi’s inviting corner.

With five minutes of regulation time remaining, Sassuolo’s Chiara Beccari pulled a goal back to set up a nervy finish for the visitors. But they ultimately stood firm to claim their seventh league win of the season.
