Daniele De Rossi is set to take charge of Roma for the first time since replacing Jose Mourinho when Hellas Verona visit on Saturday afternoon, but injuries, suspensions and international call-ups will limit the Giallorossi’s options.

Roma will be without both Bryan Cristante and Gianluca Mancini through suspension, as well as Evan Ndicka, Houssem Aouar and Sardar Azmoun, who are away at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup.

Renato Sanches, Chris Smalling, Marash Kumbulla and Tammy Abraham are all still sidelined with injuries.

With a particular shortage at centre-back, De Rossi is tipped to switch to a back four, with Rick Karsdorp and Leonardo Spinazzola at full-back, and a central pairing of Diego Llorente and Dean Huijsen.

Lorenzo Pellegrini, Edoardo Bove and Leandro Parades are expected to start in a midfield three, with Paulo Dybala and Stephan El-Shaarawy in front of them. Romelu Lukaku will start up front.

Milan Djuric.

Kick off at the Station Olimpico is set for 17.00 GMT.
