Roma continued the defence of their Serie A title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Sassuolo. Elsewhere in the Poule Scudetto, Inter produced a dominant display to dent Fiorentina’s Champions League hopes.

Poule Scudetto

Roma 3-0 Sassuolo

Manuela Giugliano opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, striking a sumptuous half-volley past an unmoved Solène Durand. After putting Roma in front, Giugliano was presented with the chance to score her second when the referee pointed to the spot in the opening stages of the second half for a handball infringement.

The 26-year-old kept her cool to roll the ball home with minimum fuss. Valentina Giacinti then put her name on the scoresheet to make sure of the three points.

Roma are now 10 points clear of second-placed Juventus, with seven Serie A matches left to play.

Fiorentina 0-3 Inter

Fiorentina remain five points adrift of Juventus after they endured a difficult outing against Inter.

Annamaria Serturini calmly slid the ball past Katja Schroffenegger to give Inter a precious lead inside eight minutes. After providing the assist for the opener, Lina Magull grabbed a goal of her own in the second period. The midfielder latched onto Michela Cambiaghi’s knockdown to thump home from close range. With momentum in their favour, Inter quickly netted a third through Agnese Bonfantini.

The comprehensive victory lifted the visitors up to fourth position in Serie A.

Poule Salvezza

AC Milan 4-0 Pomigliano

AC Milan made light work of their home clash with relegation-threatened Pomigliano.

Chanté Dompig pounced on a rebound to put Milan in front inside the opening 15 minutes. The forward then poked the ball home from close range to grab her second before the half-time break.

Pomigiliano’s fading hopes of salvaging a positive result were ended within two minutes of the restart. Evelyn Ijeh exchanged a neat one-two with Nadia Nadim before scoring her first goal for the club. Valery Vigilucci went on to head home from a corner to wrap up a comfortable victory for the hosts.

The disappointing defeat ensured Pomigliano remain rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table.

Sampdoria 1-0 Como

Sampdoria recorded a second straight victory in Saturday’s home meeting with Como. Buoyed from netting four goals against Pomigliano, Tori DellaPeruta continued her fine form with an 11th-minute effort at the weekend. The forward latched onto an under-hit backpass to guide the ball home from a narrow-angle.

With Como unable to produce a response, Sampdoria claimed maximum points, moving them above their opponents and into seventh position.
